Data Scientist w/ Generative AI (AWS)

As a Data Scientist specializing in Generative AI, you’ll work across AWS services to develop high-value enterprise AI solutions. You’ll collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to design, build, optimize, and scale next-generation GenAI models and pipelines.

You’ll work hands-on with foundation models, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and cloud-native data infrastructure. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, a proactive mindset, and a passion for innovation.

You will also guide teams on emerging technologies, best practices, and responsible AI frameworks—helping the organization accelerate AI adoption and create measurable business impact.

Requirements:

5+ years in Data Science or Machine Learning
Strong experience with AWS AI/ML services: Bedrock, SageMaker, Lambda, ECS
Hands-on experience with LLMs and foundation models (Claude, Titan, Mistral, LLaMA, etc.)
Expertise in prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, and vector databases (Pinecone, FAISS, DynamoDB)
Strong Python skills: NumPy, Pandas, PyTorch, TensorFlow
Ability to design experiments, evaluate models, and optimize performance
Experience in cloud-native CI/CD, model monitoring, and observability
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Responsibilities:

Build and deploy Generative AI solutions using AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, and related services
Evaluate, integrate, and fine-tune foundation models for enterprise use cases (chatbots, summarization, automation, agents, etc.)
Design and optimize RAG pipelines, including preprocessing, embeddings, retrieval, and ranking
Collaborate with engineers and product teams to deliver domain-specific GenAI applications
Improve system performance, cost efficiency, and reliability across large workloads
Develop reusable frameworks, documentation, and best practices for AI engineering
Guide teams on responsible AI, prompt testing, and model evaluation

Work Conditions:

Hybrid schedule: 4 days onsite (Chicago), 1 day remote
